CENTR Conference Day #1 in Italy
Alexa Raad (.ORG CEO) and I (.ORG policy counsel) are currently attending the CENTR European Internet conference in Pisa Italy this week. For several months now, .ORG has been leading Internet community discussion on adoption of DNSSEC. The importance of DNSSEC adoption was emphasized throughout multiple presentations during today’s CENTR meeting.
A highlight of today’s emphasis on DNSSSEC adoption was a panel led by Alexa on industry collaboration to support DNSSEC. Joining Alexa on the panel were Michael Young from Afilias Limited, Roy Arends from Nominet, and Staffan Hagnell from .SE. This panel discussed the efforts by .ORG to form a collaborative group of companies dedicated to promoting DNSSEC adoption. The panel discussed current efforts to identify key parties for implementing DNSSEC and efforts currently underway to educate the wider Internet community on the benefits of DNSSEC as well as to develop best practices for implementation. Both Alexa Raad and I will be attending the CENTR meeting tomorrow and are using this opportunity to collaborate with and discuss key issues with the global Internet community.
