.ORG Participates in RIPE57 DNS Working Group

I arrived in Dubai on Monday October 27, my first trip to the UAE. Attending and presenting at the RIPE 57 meeting is an excellent opportunity to meet with many people involved in the rollout of DNSSEC.
The RIPE meeting is a five-day event where Internet service providers, network operators and other interested parties from Europe and the surrounding regions gather to discuss Internet technology and policy.
On Wednesday I participated in the DNS Working Group session and had the opportunity to present .ORG’s next steps with DNSSEC. I spoke of the DNSSEC Industry Coalition which we initiated in August and our progress on the collaborative efforts on specific projects – tools and applications, educational material, implementation guides – to accelerate the adoption of DNSSEC and streamline its rollout from the Registry members. It’s exciting to see the open dialog and the extent to which we are able to collaborate on development efforts and documentation, which will ultimately lead to a streamlined and simplified rollout and adoption of DNSSEC.
I look forward to updating the DNS Working Group at future RIPE meetings on the completed efforts of the Coalition and to share our plans for additional collaborative efforts.
