Introducing the New.ORG Marketing Toolkit

With 326 existing Top Level Domains (TLDs) and many more on the way, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the evolving Internet landscape – particularly for potential registrants and end users. Despite the growing number of TLDs, though, only a limited number are unrestricted and can be used by anyone, anywhere. Of those that can be registered universally, one thing is clear: .ORG is widely recognized as the place online to share ideas and knowledge and advance a cause. People trust the information they find on .ORG websites. In fact, a survey on consumers’ perceptions of domain names found that:
- 47 percent of people who are passionate about a cause would choose to register a .ORG domain name and
- 41 percent of website visitors trust information on a .ORG website.
Because websites built on a .ORG domain name are so trusted, they often rank highly on search engines. What’s more, registrants renew more than 83 percent of .ORG domain names each year – one of the highest renewal rates in the industry.
