International Rescue Committee
The IRC is responding to the devastation caused by severe monsoon season rains and extensive flash flooding throughout Pakistan. The flooding has killed more than a thousand people and has caused widespread damage that has forced villagers in remote regions to flee their homes.
The IRC came to Pakistan to help millions of Afghan refugees in the aftermath of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1980. Since then we have been assisting refugees as well as host communities in northwestern Pakistan.
