There are 'people without hope' all around us. It is the 'people of hope' who could bring ‘hope to the hopeless’. People AIDS Initiative is just that. It is a place where 'people of hope' reach out to 'people without hope' with a smile, with a touch, with humane heart.

The whole world is alarmed about the rapid increase of HIV infected persons in the global scenario and more efforts are on to fight against this disease. India’s population has crossed the billion mark, of which around half of them are adults in the sexually active group. The first AIDS case in India was detected in 1986 and since then HIV infection has been reported in all states and union territories. The prevalence rates are severe in the southern half of the country and the far north-east. Reports under-represent the actual numbers, as many deaths go unreported in India due to unprecedented levels of stigma and discrimination.
